- The dosage of Synthroid generally depends on the age group, the condition being treated, medical history, other current medical problems and the reaction of the patient to the first dose. An adult dose (ages 18-49 years) starts with an initial dose of 1.6 micrograms per kg per day. The dose is adjusted every six to eight weeks.
- The initial dose in pregnant women is 1.8 micrograms per kg per day.
- It is advised to take medicine, at least 30-60 minutes before breakfast in the morning,
